Like other developing countries where traffic is a significant sound nuisance, in Indonesian urban areas boisterous. How this condition regulated by the government so that community can live healthily and comfortably very crucial issue. Unfortunately, Indonesia has not had any environmental improvement since regulation was enacted. Additionally, regulators officers who run rule carelessly worsen condition. Sound propagation at micro-scale in urban areas
Whilst large scale noise-mapping techniques have been applied extensively in practice, as required by the EU Directive on environmental noise, they are often not applicable for microscale urban areas such as a street or a square. This talk will discuss a series of simulation techniques as well as related acoustic theories for accurately calculating the sound field for micro-scale urban areas. T...
متن کاملLowland forest loss in protected areas of Indonesian Borneo.
The ecology of Bornean rainforests is driven by El Niño-induced droughts that trigger synchronous fruiting among trees and bursts of faunal reproduction that sustain vertebrate populations. However, many of these species- and carbon-rich ecosystems have been destroyed by logging and conversion, which increasingly threaten protected areas. Our satellite, Geographic Information System, and field-...

متن کاملOrthophotograph Production in Urban Areas
This paper investigates possible solutions to the problem of urban orthophotography. Extensive work has been carried out to attain the best possible results, using all the existing software in the Department of Geomatic Engineering, University College London. Two of the most promising methods, which yield the best results, are analysed further. New routines were written in C language, as additi...
متن کاملChronic Poverty in Urban Areas
FOR MANY YEARS, poverty in urban areas of Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean has been identified by spatial area (e.g. settlement, neighbourhood, inner city) as often as it has been referred to by social group (e.g. low-income women, the homeless). This has perhaps given inadequate recognition to poverty differentiation within urban poor groups or, to put it another way, it has contr...
